Never let anyone implant a chip into your brain.
In Brandilyn Collins’s latest thriller, Double Blind, Lisa Newberry has faced many tragedies and is deeply depressed. Desperate to feel normal again, she agrees to participate in a medical trial that allows a chip to be implanted into her brain to relieve the depression.
But Lisa gets more than relief from her depression and finds herself in terrifying circumstances.
I confess suspense is my favorite genre, and Brandilyn Collins is one of my favorite authors. However, nothing delights me more than finding a novel that I can devour in one sitting. Double Blind was one of those books. I read into the early morning because I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I learned Lisa’s fate.
What I like about Collins is she has the ability to write an entertaining story with the appropriate chilling mood, yet she weaves deeper biblical truths into the plot. For example, Lisa learns her feelings do not change who God is, and though she feels abandoned, she realizes He has never left her.
I highly recommend Double Blind. I don’t recommend chip implantation.
